A short doc by Terry Jones & Govind Deecee - 2013 - 3:44 minutes
Thanks to Christopher Columbus, two groups of people from opposite sides of the earth are forever linked by the term "Indian." The filmmakers explore the similarities between their cultures through narration and images while studying film at the College of Visual and Performance Arts at Syracuse University.
For their senior film thesis, this short doc inspired the filmmakers to pursue further examinations about their "Indian" cultures. The filmmakers documented their subsequent explorations which became "Gathered Places: An Indian Documentary Film," which shows the filmmakers visiting each others' homelands of Native America and India.
